Features

The Beta 1688A Hardened Steel Engineer's Scriber (200mm) is a professional hand-held layout and marking tool used in metalworking, machining, and precision engineering to scratch ultra-fine, permanent reference lines onto hard material surfaces.
Because traditional pencils or ink markers easily rub off, smudge, or lack the hair-thin precision needed for mechanical tolerancing, engineers and machinists use this tool to engrave crisp layout paths before cutting, drilling, or machining.

Tungsten Carbide Tip: While the body channel is built from chrome-plated hardened steel, the cutting needle features an ultra-hard tungsten carbide tip. This allows the tip to bite into stubborn iron alloys and tool steels without wearing down or dulling.
Ergonomic Handle: Built with a high-visibility, signature Beta-orange nylon handle that offers a comfortable pen-like grip, giving you total stability during highly accurate freehand markings.
Pocket Carrying Clip: Features an integrated pen-clip, making it easy to store in a workshop breast pocket or utility pouch so it is instantly accessible on the bench
