Robert Sorby 840 Spindle Gouge HSS (6.5mm - 13mm)

Features

These are detailing tools used on between-centre work, where the grain is running parallel to the bed bars. They are used to create coves, beads and other profiles on goblets, vases and egg cups.
These tools have a shallow flute grind unlike bowl gouges
Many turners prefer to turn their tool handles to their own specifications. For those turners we offer here un-handled version of Sorby's standard Spindle Gouge blade. These High Speed Steel (HSS) un-handled blades are identical to the ones found on the handled versions. The blades listed here will also fit the Sorby Sovereign System Handles. A Collet Adapter may be required if used with the Sovereign System. Check your manual for the size collet required if, any.
